How to Make a Cardboard Scope for a Sniper

Arm your young, make-believe sniper with a scope, a gun accessory capable of improving shooting accuracy, even when firing imaginary shots. Kids play games of "Cowboys and Indians," and cops and robbers. They reenact wars with play weapons and imagination. Whether the weapon is a sniper rifle made from a stick in the woods or a plastic bazooka bought at a toy store, attach a cardboard scope made from a toilet paper tube, for a step toward sharpshooter status.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Remove all paper from the roll including small scraps attached to the glue.

    • 2

Paint the outside of the tube to match the color of the gun.

    • 3

Hold the tube on top of the gun along the length of the barrel. Slide the tube until it is centered above the trigger. You should be able to see through the tube clearly when the butt of the gun is in shooting position, in the pocket of the shoulder.

    • 4

Attach the tube to the gun with tape. Wrap tape around the tube and gun three times so it does not shift.
