How to Glue a Piggy Bank Back Together

Piggy banks are not just used as a cute decoration for a child to learn how to save money. Piggy banks come in several different shapes, sizes and designs and are often collectors' items. Many of these piggy banks are one-of-a-kind and simply irreplaceable. If one is broken, it might be better to glue the piggy bank back together instead of throwing the treasure away.

Instructions

    • 1

Gather all the broken pieces of the piggy bank. Beginning with the largest piece, start to place the pieces back together like a puzzle.

    • 2

Glue each of the pieces onto the bank with a thin line of super glue.

    • 3

Allow the glue to dry for at least 24 to 48 hours.

    • 4

To cover up the cracks, sand them down and add a layer of paint the same color as the bank. Next, spray a coating of clear, acrylic paint over the bank to give it a shiny look.

    • 5

Allow the bank to dry for another 24 to 48 hours.
