How to Make a Walkalong Glider

A walkalong glider is a fun and creative project that can be done by anyone. The steps are easy, and there are minimal supplies that are needed. A walkalong glider is a paper airplane that is easily able to glide alongside you when thrown into the air. It should be lightweight and compact to fly as freely as it can.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Use the scissors to cut a 21 centimeter by 5 centimeter strip of paper.

    • 2

Place the paper on the table with the long edge parallel to you. Fold the top right corner up toward you, and repeat this step with the other end. The folds should be right angles and symmetrical to one another. Fold both of these ends together and crease the paper in the middle. The nose will be formed when these folds are made.

    • 3

Fold the bottom edge up to the edge of the top folds, and then fold the paper in half. Crease this section. The edge of the paper should be facing up toward you. The folds that are made should not touch each other. Turn the paper so it is face down, and make the same folds. This will create the creases needed to create the body of the glider.

Hold the strip in the center of the edge, the wing tips should be pointing up. The glider should tumble down slowly and move forward when it is let go. If it falls or leans to one side or another then the wingtips will need to be readjusted.
