How to Design Your Own Lego Transformers

With four full-length movies, the "Transformers" series is popular among older and younger people. Many want to build their own Transformer at home, but don't know how. With the help of a computer and Lego's Digital Designer program, you can build a Lego Transformer using any of the parts that Lego blocks come in. Lego Digital Designer is free to download off of Lego's website.

  Go to designbyme.lego.com in your Internet browser. Click the "Download Now!" button. This opens a screen asking where you want to send Lego Digital Designer's installation file. Choose an easy-to-get-to place like the desktop to save the file to.

  Open the installation file. Click "Next" on the following screens to install Lego Digital Designer.

  Open Lego Digital Designer in the Start Menu.

  Build the legs of your Transformer first. Click on the blocks and the color that you want to use. Drag the blocks to the center. Place blocks on top of each other to build the leg pieces.

  Build the torso, then arms, then the head the same way.

  Buy the Lego Transformer, if you would like. Click "Upload." On the next screen, choose "Check Price," then "Buy." The pieces are sent to you with custom instructions on how to build the actual Lego Transformer.
