Instructions for LEGO King of Red Lions

The King of Red Lions is a talking sailboat from "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker." The King of Red Lions is filled with wisdom and is one of the closest allies that Link meets after he is tossed out into the Great Sea. If you are inspired to create the dragon boat, you can accomplish this with LEGOs. Creating the character is not as hard as you might think. LEGO has many blocks to choose from to create your very own LEGO King of Red Lions.

Instructions

    • 1

Snap a 1-by-1 beige technic brick on a blue 10-by-10 plate. Connect the arch part of the red 1/3 brick with bow horizontally on top of the 1-by-1 beige technic brick.

    • 2

Connect a beige 1-by-2 brick on the back end of the red 1/3 brick with bow horizontally. Add a red 1/3 brick with bow where the back end of the brick is facing the other end of the red piece on top of the beige 1-by-2 brick. The two red 1/3 brick with bow pieces should touch each other and look like a bridge. The beige 1-by-2 brick is flowing and not on the flat surface.

    • 3

Attach a red 1-by-1 plate underneath the red 1/3 brick with bow on the left side of the structure. Then, snap a red 1-by-1 round plate underneath the edge of the red 1/3 brick with bow behind the 1-by-1 beige technic brick.

    • 4

Remove the structure that you just created and lay aside. Snap a red 1-by-1 brick with 1 knob on the blue 10-by-10 plate. The knob of the brick is facing you. Snap a red 1-by-1 round plate onto the knob.

    • 5

Place the edge of the arched part of the red 1/3 brick-with-bow on top of the red 1-by-1 brick with 1 knob.

    • 6

Snap two beige 1-by-2 plates together and then add plates horizontally on the back end of the red 1/3 brick with bow. Connect a red 1-by-1 plate underneath the arched part of the red 1/3 brick with bow where it is facing the red 1-by-1 brick with 1 knob that is on the edge part of the arch.

    • 7

Add the back end of another red 1/3 brick with bow on the revealing lump of the beige 1-by-2 plates. You now have a total of two arches shaped like a bridge.

    • 8

Attach a red 1-by-1 round plate on the edge part of the arch of the red 1/3 brick with bow that you just attached. You now have two structures.

    • 9

Bring back the other structure that you created earlier. Lay that structure on its left side. Then, lay the second structure on its right side. Both structures should face each other.

    • 10

Hold the red lamp holder where the square "head" of the piece is upward and the holder is at the bottom. Snap one part of the holder on the red 1-by-1 piece that is attached to the first structure. That part of the holder should face the second structure and the back part of the "head" should face your body.

    • 11

Join both structures together as one. Turn the piece over to the other end of the structure where you see a red 1-by-1 round piece on both ends of the structures that are joined. Snap a red lamp holder to the two red 1-by-1 round pieces that are at the edge of the two structures. The lump of the "head" on the red lamp piece should face up. Snap a red 1-by-1 piece on top the "head." Now you have the base of the boat. Set aside.

    • 12

Create the head of the dragon. Connect a white 1-by-2 plate horizontally on the blue 10-by-10 plate. Snap and sit a red 1-by-1 plate on the left side horizontally next to the white 1-by-2 plate. The white plate should sit on the right side horizontally. Snap a white 1-by-1 plate on the right lump of the white 1-by-2 plate.

    • 13

Join the red 1-by-1 plate and the white 1-by-2 plate by snapping a red 1-by-2 plate horizontally on top of both pieces. Place a red 1-by-1 plate with up right holder on the second lump on the red 1-by-2 plate next to the white 1-by-1 plate. Snap a white 1-by-1 flat tile on top of the white 1-by-1 plate.

    • 14

Place a yellow 1-by-1 flat tile on the last lump that is visible on the red 1-by-2 plate. The yellow tile is the nose of the dragon. Connect a "grey stick Ø 3.2 with holder" on both "ears" of the "red 1-by-1 plate with up right holder." You now have a complete dragon head.

    • 15

Place the base of the structure where the back of the "head" of the red lamp holder is facing the red 1-by-1 round plate that is sticking out from the structure. Snap the bottom of the dragon head to the red 1-by-1 round plate and the back of the dragon head to the plate red lamp holder. You now have the dragon head on the base of the boat.

    • 16

Create the flag. Lay a green 1-by-3 plate horizontally and then lay a green 1-by-2 plate next to the piece horizontally. Snap a white "roof tile 1-by-2/45° on the two left lumps on the green 1-by-3 plate. The slanted part of the white piece should face left. Snap a white 1-by-2 brick next to the white roof tile connecting both green pieces.

    • 17

Snap a white "roof tile 1-by-1-by-2/3, Abs" on top of the white "roof tile 1-by-2/45° where the slant part faces the same as the other white roof tile. Snap a white 1-by-2 plate horizontally on top of the white 1-by-2 brick. Connect another white "roof tile 1-by-2/45° on top of the white 1-by-2 brick. You now have a flag.

    • 18

Connect the flag to the lump of the red lamp holder's "head" that is also connected to the dragon's head and you're done.
