How to Disassemble an Our Generation Toy Horse

The Our Generation brand of toy horses consists of realistic interpretations of horses that were used in the 1800s in the Western United States -- a period when that region was often called the "Wild West." An Our Generation toy horse consists of a number of hard plastic pieces connected together, along with accessories that attach these pieces using hooks and clips. You can disassemble an Our Generation toy horse if you need to replace a broken or defective part. The procedure requires a few household tools but no special equipment.

Instructions

    • 1

Unclip the saddlebag's connector from the saddle on the Our Generation toy horse. Remove the saddlebag. Unclip the saddle's connector from the bottom of the horse's belly, and remove the saddle from the horse.

    • 2

Remove the blanket from the horse. Pull the bridle up and off the horse's face. Remove the reins from around the horse's neck. Set aside the bridle, saddle, saddlebag and blanket.

    • 3

Place the horse on a table, on its side with the legs facing you. Wrap several layers of masking tape around the jaws of the pliers; this will help prevent the pliers from scratching the parts.

    • 4

Grip the horseshoe at the end of one of the legs with the jaws of the pliers. Hold the horse against the table with one hand while you pull the horseshoe off the leg with the pliers. Repeat this procedure with the other three legs.

    • 5

Grip one of the legs where it meets the body of the horse, using the pliers. Hold the horse down with one hand while you pull the leg out of the body socket in the body with the pliers. Repeat this with the other three legs.
