How to Make a Pen Launcher

You can kill boredom with nothing more than a ballpoint pen and a few common household items. You can make your very own pen launcher in a few minutes. Nothing beats a boring day better than a bit of home-made target practice. Compete with your friends to see whose pen launcher works the best or practice your aim with a bull's eye drawn on the box. You'll never throw away your used ballpoints once you've made your first pen launcher.

Things You'll Need

1 ballpoint pen
1 or 2 rubber bands
Duct tape or electrical tape
Scissors or utility knife

Instructions

  Unscrew the top and bottom parts of the pen. If they cannot be unscrewed, cut off 1 to 1 1/2 centimeters from the nib. Cut off the same length from of the top of the pen as well.

  Take out the pen refill or ink cartridge. Keep it aside safely.

  Take out all other interior pen pieces.

  Ensure your pen is now a hollow casing with open ends on both sides.

  Strap a rubber band over the pen from top to bottom.

  Measure approximately 3 to 4 centimeters from one of the ends.

  Wrap tape firmly around the pen at that point.

  Cut off the rubber band where it is shortest in length.

  Note one end of the pen will now have a rubber band blocking it, and the other end will be open.

  Insert the previously saved pen refill through the open end and push towards the rubber band at the opposite end.

  Gently pull the rubber band, along with refill, from the other side.

  Release your grip and shoot the refill out the open end.
