How to Fix a Flash Flood Water Gun

The Super Soaker Flash Flood water gun is able to shoot a thin or wide stream of water from its two barrels. A loose spring in the trigger will prevent the Flash Flood from firing. To fix the Flash Flood's trigger, partially disassemble the water gun. Household tools will be needed, but you don't need any special equipment.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the Super Soaker Flash Flood water gun on a table. Rotate the gun so that the water chamber is closest to you and the barrel of the gun is pointing to the left.

    • 2

Remove the screws from around the left and right sides of the Flash Flood's gun assembly, using a Phillips-head screwdriver. Repeat this procedure at the top and bottom of the gun and around the trigger.

    • 3

Place the screws in a coffee cup so that they don't get lost. Pull the gray clip off the top front edge of the gun. Pull the top shell off the gun and place it aside.

    • 4

Push up on the gray plastic panel that's covering the firing mechanism, above the trigger. Grip the end of the spring that is now revealed to the right of the trigger, using a needle-nose pliers. Pull the spring to the right to expand it slightly.

    • 5

Place the loop at the end of the spring through the hook at the right top edge of the trigger. Place the jaws of the needle-nose pliers around the sides of the end of the spring. Press in on the jaws to compress the end of the spring so that it stays on the hook.

    • 6

Push the gray plastic panel back down. Place the top shell back on the gun. Reattach the screws. Place the gray clip back on the top front edge of the gun.
