How to Change Yo-Yo Pogs

Yo-yo pogs are a popular customization option for many yo-yo enthusiasts. Decorative devices, yo-yo players apply them to the open ends of a yo-yo shell half. Yo-yo pogs are kept in place with side caps, which are usually clear to show off the pog inside of the shell. Some yo-yos feature solid-colored caps with decorative designs that act as pogs themselves. In most cases, you can remove the cap to swap out the pog located inside.

     Place the yo-yo on its side. Press the suction cup down on the center of the yo-yo cap.

   • 2

     Pull the suction cup upwards. The upward force applied plus the grip created by the suction cup will pry the cap and pog from the yo-yo shell.

   • 3

     Place the new pog inside of the cap and then place the cap onto the shell. Press the cap firmly on the shell until it pops into place.
