Things You'll Need
Instructions
Place a step stool beneath the swing needing replacement. Examine the connection point between the chains and "S" connector affixed to the top support bar.
Grasp the right "S" connector and unhook the chain. Certain models may feature a protective sheath for "S" connector that you must hold out of the way while disconnecting the chain. Unhook the left-side chain to free the rest of the swing.
Flip the seat upside down. Remove the two nuts that secure the chain eyelets to the sides, using an appropriate-size socket. Remove the chain eyelets from the seat; do not lose the lock washers for each eyelet. Perform this step if reusing the seat.
Secure the replacement chains to the original or replacement seat base. Reverse the disassembly procedures noted above.
Connect the remaining chain ends to the corresponding "S" hooks affixed to the top support bar. Make sure the chains are free from kinks and twists before connecting the ends to the "S" hooks.
Test the operation of the swing to finish the replacement process.
