How to Build a LEGO Van

The LEGO Group was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen and is now owned by his grandchild, Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen. Building vehicles can be tricky when positioning together plates and bricks to form the body. It can also become expensive when adding special parts to the LEGO van to make it appear more realistic. You can, however, create your very own LEGO van with simple bricks and plates.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay the LEGO van base on a flat surface. Attach a 1-by-4 plate to the front, back and side of the LEGO van base. Add the LEGO wheel axis and tires to the base. Double two 2-by-2 plates and place them between the wheel sections at both locations. Take three 2-by-4 plates and attach the two together and then attach it to the 2-by-2 plate that you just added at the rear part of the base. Then, attach the one 2-by-4 plate to the 2-by-2 plate on the front of the base.

    • 2

Attach a 1-by-4 brick to the front and the back of the van's base. Then attach a 1-by-4 brick to the sides of the base. Turn the base to the front and attach two white studs on both front edges of the brick that you just attached to the front of the base. Attach a white 1-by-2 plate in the middle of the studs.

    • 3

Turn the van to the back and attach two red studs on the edge of the brick that is attached to the base of the van shape. Attach a white 1-by-2 plate in the middle of the red studs. Attach a 1-by-6 plate on both edges of the van behind the white studs. Add a 1-by-2 plate on top of the front "license" plate. Place a 1-by-6 plate on the front side of the van on both sides.

    • 4

Add the two corner plates behind the 1-by-6 plates to create a rectangular shape in the middle of the van. Place a 2-by-4 plate on top of the red studs at the rear of the van and add a 2-by-4 brick on top. Attach two 1-by-2 plates together and place a 1-by-2 brick on top. Turn the piece to the front and slide the piece in the open part of the van. Attach a 1-by-1 brick on both sides of the van behind the front wheels.

    • 5

Place two 2-by-6 plates in your hands and position them next to each other; attach them on top of the 2-by-4 brick. Attach that to the 1-by-1 bricks you just attached as the roof of the van.
