How to Make a Boomerang Paper Plane

Paper airplanes have become a staple of just about every kid's childhood. Folding paper airplanes is usually a fairly simple task and only requires a single sheet of paper. However, there are other types of paper airplane designs that exist, which take a little bit more skill to make. One design is known as the boomerang style of paper airplane. A boomerang paper airplane is designed to fly away from the person who launches it and return to them - just like a boomerang.

Instructions

    • 1

Place a8 1/2-inch by 11-inch sheet of paper on a flat tabletop surface. Fold the sheet of paper in half vertically and crease the sheet of paper. Unfold the paper.

    • 2

Take the two top corners of the paper and fold them in toward the center of the sheet until they meet. The corners should form two triangles.

    • 3

Fold down the point at the top of the paper to create a big triangle shape. Fold down the two corners of this new shape in toward the crease in the center of the paper.

    • 4

Bring the triangle shape at the bottom of the sheet of paper up to meet the top layers you have folded. Take the left and right sides of the paper and fold them in toward the center crease.

    • 5

Fold the side wings outward 1/2 inch from the left and right side folds you made in the previous step.

    • 6

Take the top part of the paper airplane's wings and fold them inward to meet the center crease of the plane. Fold the wings back again along the crease. Lift up the plane's wings and let it fly.
