How to Do Tricks on a Fingerboard

A fingerboard is also known as a tech deck. These miniature skateboards are manipulated by your fingers to mimic the tricks done on full sized skateboards. These tricks can be done on a flat surface like a countertop or desk or can be performed on a finger board skate park course. There are a few tricks that should be mastered by every beginner fingerboard rider. These tricks will make it easier to master harder ones as they involve similar components.

Instructions

  1. The Ollie

    • 1

      Place your fingerboard on a flat surface with your middle finger laying on the tail of the board and your pointer finger laying in the middle of it.

      Roll the board backwards to begin the trick. Gaining speed is necessary before doing most fingerboard tricks.

      Slam the tail of the board down with your middle finger to begin the jump.

    • 4

      Slide your ring finger towards the nose of the board while its raised in the air.

      Lift up your middle finger to level out the board in the air.

      Land the board by pressing both fingers back towards the surface.

    The Kickflip

      Place your fingerboard on a flat surface with your middle finger laying on the tail of the board and your pointer finger laying in the middle of it.

      Roll the board backwards to begin the trick.

      Slam the tail of the board down with your middle finger to begin the jump.

    • 10

      Slide your ring finger towards the nose and off the side of the board to make it flip in the air.

      Land your fingers back on to the board when it flips around and push the board back towards the ground to end the trick.

    The Pop Shuvit

      Place your fingerboard on a flat surface with your middle finger laying on the tail of the board and your pointer finger laying just behind the front bolts.

      Roll the board backwards to begin the trick.

    • 14

      Slam the tail of the board down with your middle finger to begin the jump.

    • 15

      Pull your middle finger towards you when the tail hits the ground to make the board spin 180 degrees off the ground.

    • 16

      Land your fingers back on to the board when it spins around and push the board back towards the ground to end the trick.
