How to Do Beyblade Tricks

The Beyblade anime, video game and battle series has become quite popular since its debut in 2000. The series is based on a Japanese manga created by Takao Aoki. Beyblades resemble spinning tops that can be altered to make them more effective in battle tournaments. Beyblades also can be used for tricks, although most tricks are not allowed in official battles (they are just for show).

Things You'll Need

  • Dinner plate
  • Water
  • Dish soap
  • Attack ring (Flying Defenser)

Instructions

    • 1

Put a plate on a flat surface and fill it with approximately 1/4 inch of water. Add a drop or two of liquid dish soap. Launch the Beyblade onto the plate from about 4 to 6 inches above the plate. The Bey will make bubbles. The faster the spin, the more bubbles it will make.

    • 2

Make a bouncing and flying Beyblade for a fun trick. This is not allowed in real battles, however. Attach an attack ring (also called a Flying Defenser) to the Spin Gear of Trygle on a Beyblade with left SG casings. Remove the weight disk and base of the Beyblade. Launch the Beyblade with the launcher from 2 to 3 feet above the ground. It will fly and bounce, depending on the launch.

    • 3

Place a HF (Hole Flat) tip on a Beyblade and flip the Bey upside down on a flat, sturdy surface. Balance an S (Sharp) or ES (Eternal Sharp) tip Beyblade on the tip of the other Beyblade. Pull the cord and have the top Beyblade balance and spin on the other one. If you get a good enough spin, the bottom Bey may even slowly rotate as well.

    • 4

Flip an HF Beyblade upside down and hold it in your hand. Insert a toothpick into the hole of your Beyblade tip. Launch it like you normally would. Watch the Beyblade spin higher on its stilt. If you launch another Beyblade, it will lose its spin and slowly make wide rotations before falling down.

    • 5

Position your Beyblade on its launcher. Hold the launcher at a 45-degree angle about 6 to 12 inches off the ground. Launch it. The Bey will go straight and then start to make wide circles.

    • 6

Use an 18-inch rip cord to make your Beyblade spin faster. You can also pull the rip cord hard and fast to get a good spin. This will make a defense-type Beyblade deflect attacks well.

    • 7

Launch your Beyblade in the opposite direction as your opponent. This will send your Beyblade straight across the arena for a strong, quick attack.

    • 8

Make a strong attack Bey by using a heavy disk and a sharp attack ring. Use a grip blade base and a left-spin deluxe launcher for fast and effective attacks.
