How to Fix a Nerf Recon CS-6

Nerf Blasters, toy plastic guns which fire Nerf foam darts, are becoming increasingly popular. The N-Strike series are tactical blasters with both rapid-fire and long-range firing abilities. The N-Strike Recon CS-6 features a dual-mode light beam which is used to help targeting and firing. The Recon also features a flip-up site, a retractable stock and barrel extension that the light beam is mounted to the bottom of. The main problems that can arise with your Recon CS-6 include failure of the dual-mode light beam and occasional dart jams. Both problems can be corrected with a few simple steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Flip the switch to the dual-mode light beam to the "On" position. If it does not work turn the switch to the "Off" position. Failure of the dual-mode light beam is usually due to dead batteries.

    • 2

Locate the battery door on the top of the blaster, above the blaster's hand grip. Remove the battery door screw with a Phillips screwdriver. Set is aside in a safe place so it does not get lost.

    • 3

Flip the battery door up and remove the old batteries. Insert the new AAA batteries into the battery holder following the directional arrows inside the battery holder. Close the battery door and replace the door screw. If the problem is a jammed dart, move to the next step.

    • 4

Locate the dart cartridge at the bottom of the blaster and remove it by pulling it out by hand. Inspect the cartridge feeding hole. If there is a jammed dart there, pull it out with your fingers.

    • 5

Empty your loaded clip and reinsert darts, making sure they are all pointing in the direction on the clip indicated by the arrows. After you do this, load the clip back in, making sure that the arrow ion the outside of the clip is pointed away from the Recon CS-6.
