Things You'll Need
Instructions
Pour 5 cups water, 1/2 cup dishwashing liquid and 2 tbsp. glycerin into the bucket. Stir slowly with a wooden spoon to mix the ingredients.
Cover the bucket with plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator overnight for the best results. It is possible to use the bubble solution immediately, but letting it sit overnight strengthens the solution for the best bubbles.
Take the bubble solution outside and uncover it. Stir slowly and gently to remix the solution. Stirring too vigorously causes suds, which lower the solution's bubble-making potential.
Untwist and straighten a wire coat hanger to make a large bubble wand. Twist one end of the straightened wire around the mid-point of the wire, creating a large loop. Angle the straight end of the wire to use as a handle.
Repeat Step 4 with a chenille wire to make a smaller wand for younger children.
Make an enormous bubble loop by threading the 48-inch length of yarn or cord through two drinking straws, and tying the ends together to form a loop. Pull on the string until the knot is inside one of the drinking straws.
Dip the coat-hanger wand or chenille-wire wand into the bubble solution. Or dip the entire bubble loop into the solution, using the two straws as handles on opposite sides, to open the loop into a large circle.
Remove the wand from the solution carefully and check to see if there is a thin layer of bubble solution in the loop. If not, dip again.
Blow through the loop to create bubbles. If you blow hard, you will get a lot of small bubbles. Blowing slowly will create one large bubble. Another technique, which works best with the enormous bubble loop, is to wave the wand through the air to create bubbles.
