How to Print LEGO Decals

Have fun printing your own decals for LEGO® minifigures using your computer. Quite a lot of adult LEGO enthusiasts enjoy printing their own decals and some even start small businesses selling sets of these. When printing at home, most of the time you won't have to worry about calculating proportions. The designers of these images usually do this for you, but if they don't, you can adjust the height yourself. Adjusting the height alters the proportions of the head, as well. You can print your decals on any kind of paper you desire, including decal paper or plain paper.

Navigate to the website containing the decal you wish to print. Right click on the decal image and select "Save" from the list of drop-down options. Mac users can simply click on the image to drag and drop it on their desktop.

    • 2

Open a new document in your word processor or text editor.

    • 3

Click on "Insert" in the toolbar at the top of the screen. Move your cursor down the list to where it says "Image" or "Picture" and click. Alternately, you could click on the picture icon in the toolbar.

    • 4

Select the image file from your desktop (or wherever you saved the image file) and click the "Open" button. The image will appear on your document.

    • 5

Double click on the image and check its proportions. They will probably already be set by the image designer. The minifigure should have a height of .51 inches and a length of .61 inches. Save your image by clicking on "File" and then "Save."

Print your decal on plain white paper or decal paper by clicking on "File" and "Print." The print dialog box will pop up. Click the "Print" button and print your image.
