What Do the iDog Colors Mean?

The iDog is a dog-shaped electronic speaker that reacts to the music and your attention. You can plug it into a MP3, portable CD or cassette player using the included audio cable. Waving your hand in front of the dog's LED display "face" will make it happy. Pushing the "nose" button twice will let you know how your dog feels.
  1. Pink/Purple Center Light

    • This means your iDog needs more attention from you. The faster the light blinks, the more attention it needs. Wave your hand in front of the LED display or push the nose button.

    Blue Center Light

    • The blue center light means your iDog needs more "food." IDog's food is music. It needs five minutes every hour. The light blinks faster as it gets "hungrier." Play it music when the middle light blinks blue.

    Type of Music

    • The type of music you play for your iDog influences its personality and the color lights it displays. The red outer ring of LED lights indicates a rock or punk personality. A green outer ring of LED lights indicates a dance or techno personality. A yellow outer ring of LED lights indicates a hip-hop or rap personality.

    The Many Moods of IDog

    • A line of three LED lights blinking and turning like a fan indicates the iDog is ecstatic. If your iDog is excited the pattern changes from a "Y" shape to a three LED light triangle and back again. If your iDog is happy, the outside ring lights up, then center dot lights up alone, and back again. Two LED lights on the outside circle light up and travel around the outside in a clockwise pattern mean a normal mood. The center three vertical lights light up twice, then the three lights diagonally to the right light up twice, then the three lights diagonally to the left light up twice showing your iDog is bored.

Your iDog is lonely if the center light lights up and slowly the outer lights follow and then fade back to only the center light, and finally no lights. The top light lights up followed by the light below it and the light below that one if your iDog is sad. Those lights will then fade in reverse order and the LEDs begin to light in pairs around the outside traveling in a clockwise pattern. Your iDog is sick if it displays a "Y" shape followed by an inverted "Y' shape. This pattern continues to indicate this mood.
