How to Stop Spinning on a Pogo Stick

Pogo sticks can provide hours of outdoor fun for both children and adults, but getting a hang on this unsteady device can seem daunting. Even if you can jump on a pogo stick without falling off, traveling in the right direction proves difficult. Veering in random directions and spinning are not uncommon and directly result from improper angling of the pogo stick when leaving the floor. Perfecting your pogo stick jumping technique stops the spinning and gives you more control over the direction you want to travel in.

Instructions

    • 1

Step on the foot mount using either leg. Keep the other leg securely on the floor and hold the pogo stick in a vertical position with your hands.

    • 2

Jump off the ground with the foot planted on the ground and place firmly on the other foot mount.

    • 3

Angle the pogo stick in the direction you want to travel in immediately after both feet are on the mounts. For example, if you want to travel forward, lean the pogo stick slightly forward as the stick leaves the ground.

    • 4

Bring the pogo stick to an upright position while in the air. Use both your hands and feet to make the correction.

    • 5

Land on the ground in a completely vertical position. Then, before you leave the ground again, angle the pogo stick in the direction you want to travel in.
