How to Use the Pokewalker

"Pokemon HeartGold" and "Pokemon SoulSilver" are remakes of "Pokemon Gold" and "Pokemon Silver," respectively, for the Nintendo DS. Along with updated graphics, "Pokemon HeartGold" and "Pokemon SoulSilver" include new features, among which are the Pokewalker. The Pokewalker is a small pedometer that provides incentive to players to remain physically active by walking or jogging. The device allows you to transfer a captured Pokemon from "Pokemon HeartGold" or "Pokemon SoulSilver." In addition, the Pokemon will gain experience from using the Pokewalker. Setting the device up for use only takes a few simple steps.

Situate both the Pokewalker and the Nintendo DS near each other on a flat surface. Turn on both devices by pressing their respective power buttons. Make sure either "Pokemon HeartGold" or "Pokemon SoulSilver" is inserted into the Nintendo DS.
