How to Tie a Yoyo Slip Knot

The handled end of yo-yo strings are tied into a loop with a slip knot. The loop of the slip knot is the finger-hold of the yo-yo. The string is slipped onto the middle finger between the first and second knuckles and the yo-yo is controlled by that hand. You can tie a new knot into the end of your yo-yo string and then trim off the old knot or you can make a knot in a new yo-yo string.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure 1 inch down from the original slip knot in your yo-yo string. Fold the string over at this point to double up the string.

    • 2

Form a loop with the doubled-up string with your finger. Insert the bend of the folded end of the doubled up string into the loop and pull it through.

    • 3

Hold down the fold with your thumb and index finger in your left hand. Hold the end of the doubled-up part of the string in your right hand. Move your hands away from each other and pull on the string to tighten the knot. Open the loop with your index finger and thumb. Hook the string that is located right under the knot on the long end of the string and pull it through the loop to finish making the slip knot.
