Slime &Goo
Ever since the invention of good old-fashioned Silly Putty back in 1943, there have evolved a multitude of different types of gooey, slimy and sticky play items. These items include Play Dough, Goo, Slime and Sticky Brains, to name just a few. These items stretch, bounce, stick to walls, pick up newsprint and do all kinds of other things that children love.
Slinky
The Slinky first appeared back in 1943 and became a classic novelty toy that has been sold in a variety of stores ever since. It came into existence quite by accident when its inventor by the name of Richard James, was working on making some springs for his personal use. The toy was named by Betty James, his wife. Together, the couple began to market the Slinky and, as of the year 2011, it can still be found in retail shops. It still seems to fascinate children as much as it did back in the 1940s.
Gag Gifts
Gag gifts can be pleasing and entertaining to many children, especially to those who have a good sense of humor, which most kids do. Gag Items include fake yet realistic-looking rubber insects, "whoopee cushions," cans of nuts with a fake snake that pops out when it is opened, wind-up toys, disappearing ink and much more. These items can be found in toy stores, department stores, carnivals, party supply stores and sometimes drugstores.
Temporary Tattoos
Wash-off tattoos have been around for a long time and can even be found as prizes in the bottoms of Cracker Jack and cereal boxes. There is a multitude of temporary tattoo varieties for both boys and girls. Some include animals, insects, cartoon characters, flowers and words. These tattoos wash off or wear off after a few days. They can be found in a variety of retail shops.
