How to Make a Paperclip Crossbow

You hold most bows vertically when you shoot them. You hold a crossbow horizontally when you shoot it, though. If you want to play a game involving shooting objects, and you don't have a crossbow, you can make a smaller version using simple office supplies, with the paperclip serving as a bow.

Things You'll Need

  • Rubber band

Instructions

    • 1

Bend the inside of the paperclip out.

    • 2

Straighten out the two loops at the end of the clip so that the paperclip is as straight as possible.

    • 3

Cut the rubber band in half with scissors.

    • 4

Tie each end of the rubber band onto the two ends of the straightened paperclip.

    • 5

Lay down the paperclip on your desk, then place the object you are going to shoot in the middle of the paperclip, sitting on top of the paperclip and backed by the rubber band. Pull back to desired strength and let go to shoot.
