How to Donate Playground Equipment

A donation of playground equipment provides children with the means to develop many skills. For neighborhoods or regions that do not have as many privileges, these donations make a huge impact for the disadvantaged youth. Donations can be made in a variety of ways: locally, nationally or even internationally. In most cases, these donations are tax deductible, making the gift a financial benefit to the donor.

  Contact local Boys and Girls club chapters and ask if they are currently looking for donated equipment or playground gear. Ask for a list of needed items. See if your equipment matches what the local club is seeking. Ask if they arrange pickups or if you need to deliver. Request a receipt for tax purposes should you want the deduction.

  Call local Lion's Club chapters and ask if they have a playground or youth donation program. Many Lion's Club chapters act as a community resource for donations and charitable activities. Arrange pickups or deliveries and request a receipt for tax purposes.

  Consult online resources for national and international playground programs. Examples include Operation Playground which accepts money and Sports Gift which accepts equipment. Read the list of desired playground gear and make donations accordingly.

  Call the local Parent Teachers Association (PTA) and see what neighborhoods need playgrounds or playground gear. Make arrangements for your donation.
