How to Not Fall in Heelys

Heely shoes are a brand of shoe that contains a wheel in the heel of each shoe to transform the sneakers into roller skates. Since the Heelys only have one wheel per shoe, balancing can be difficult and you may fall until you are experienced and comfortable with this show. To avoid falling, it is essential to find a balance point and learn the correct way to push off and skate using the wheel.

Instructions

    • 1

Find a location that offers a smooth surface with something that you can easily grasp, such as a hand rail. Put on your Heelys and safety gear. Wear long pants and sleeves to protect your skin as you learn.

    • 2

Place the heel of your dominant foot (the foot that is on the same side as your writing hand) in front of your other food with the heel in line with the toe of your other foot. Raise the front foot about 45 to 60 degrees away from the ground so that it is resting completely on the wheel. Raise your back foot as well, but only raise it enough to rest on the wheel.

    • 3

Hold on to something while you try to find the balance point for the wheels. You should be able to rest on the wheels without falling. Finding the balance point is the best way to avoid falling while wearing Heelys.

    • 4

Have a friend pull you along while you rest on your balance point for your shoes. It should take several tries before you can skate along on the balance point with confidence. However, if you learn the correct balance for you, then you will have a much higher chance of staying upright while skating on the shoes.

    • 5

Step forward with your back foot, placing all weight on your main foot. Step forward with your main foot with the toe up so you rest on the main wheel. Push forward with your back toe to start rolling. Plant your back foot heel down to start rolling on the Heely wheels. Hold your arms out for balance while still learning the moves to prevent falls.
