Ollie
To do an ollie, skate until you reach a decent speed; a decent speed means you no longer need to push off the ground with your foot for momentum. Once you reach this speed, move your back foot to the back of the Ripstik. Shift your weight onto your back foot and use that foot to kick the back of the Ripstik downward. Instantly move your weight forward to "land" and continue skating.
Step Over
The step-over involves using your Ripstik and a small board or branch. Place a branch on the ground and skate to it on your Ripstik. When your front wheel comes within a few inches of the stick, shift your weight to the back of your board. Once you clear the front wheels, immediately shift your weight to the front of the board to clear the stick with your back wheels.
Two Footer
The two-footer requires balance on your caster board. When you are coasting, bring your back foot to the front of your board so both feet are at the front. Balance this way while coasting as long as possible before moving one foot to the back of the board. You can vary this by moving your front foot to the back of the Ripstik.
Manual
The manual uses balance and motion during the trick. Attain a comfortable speed where you no longer need to propel yourself forward. Shift your body weight backward, slowly, to lift the front of the board off the ground. Don't put all of your weight on the back foot; you don't want the back of the Ripstik to grind against the ground. Use balance to keep the back of the board 1 to 2 inches off the sidewalk while lifting the front 5 to 6 inches above the ground.
