Most toys targeted towards girls promote cooking, parenting or arts. While entertaining, the toys are also helping young girls develop life skills needed later in life. Before making a purchase make sure that the toy is recommended for her age group and that it does not need extras like an accessory kit or batteries to be fully enjoyed.

Dolls
- For girls under the age of 4, dolls that are modeled after babies are popular. You can purchase lifelike babies that your daughter can feed, change, burp and act like a mother to. For slightly older girls, between the ages of 5 and 10, Barbie dolls and dolls modeled after a teenage or older image are popular options.
