How to Modify Billy Bass

Big Mouth Billy Bass, the singing mounted-fish novelty, reached the market in 1999 and has been bursting into song for passers-by ever since. With pre-recorded songs, Billy Bass became repetitive in a fairly short time if the singing fish was placed in a high-traffic area. The equipped motion sensor triggered the serenade, sometimes to unsuspecting guests. Gemmy Industries released a customizable version of Billy Bass in honor of the 10-year anniversary of the toys' debut.

     Push and hold the button labeled "REC" on the Billy Bass mounting surface.

     Record your personalized message or play the song you want stored in the toy's memory. Select up to nine seconds of media for the recording. Speak clearly from six to 12 inches away from the surface.

     Release the "REC" button as soon as your recording is complete. Press "PLAY" to listen to your new message. Repeat the process if you want to re-record it.
