• RC airplane conversions are popular among enthusiasts. These conversions consist of taking a small engine, such as one installed in a weed whacker or chainsaw, and modifying it for use inside an RC airplane.

Advantages

• An RC conversion is a cheaper way to provide an RC plane with a decent engine. The new engines often use less gas than dedicated RC engines, saving money.

Procedure

• You need to strip down whatever utility engine you are converting down to the bare engine. Then mount it to the RC plane using bolts. Depending on the weight of the engine, you may need to move some parts, including the ignition system, to other areas on the plane.
