Text Reveal Effects
The first thing that the FANtastik Mini-32 can do is reveal text in a variety of ways. Text can be flashed onto the fan's circular display all at once or revealed letter-by-letter in a circular reveal pattern. It can also be scrolled on or off in a smooth column-by-column pattern (most letters are five or six columns of LEDs in width). Text can be revealed clockwise or counterclockwise, or one user-created text display can be revealed before being replaced with another. All effects used to reveal letters can also be used to make them disappear.
Spinning Effects
The Mini-32 can display text in a static circular pattern that gives the appearance of still letters floating in space. The rotation effect can cause letters to be slowly rotated about the circle or rotated so fast that they become illegible, before slowing to reveal their message. Rotation can be clockwise or counterclockwise. Letter patterns can be altered while spinning, so that one text display can speed into a blur then change into another display that is only revealed when the fan slows its spinning.
Strobe Effects
The Mini-32's entire effect is built upon the technique of flashing different patterns onto the LEDs too fast for the human eye to register their change. However, within this, the fan is capable of flashing letters slowly while static or moving, to draw attention to their message, or very fast to create a hypnotic strobe effect. Text displays can be changed during a flash or strobe so as to display a longer message almost seamlessly.
