How to Nollie Kickflip on a Tech Deck

Tech Deck is the leading manufacturer of miniature replica skateboards. They feature all of the same components as a regular, standard-sized skateboard, providing customizable and interchangeable wheels, deck (the board) and trucks (the metal axles between the deck and wheels). With a bit of practice, Tech Deck "riders" can perform tricks to rival any pro skateboarder without the risk of broken limbs.

Learn to "ride." Before attempting complex tricks such as the nollie kickflip, it is important to feel comfortable with the basic "riding" position. Place your middle finger on the tail of the board, and your index finger slightly in front of the middle of the deck. Move the board in this position, pressing on either side to make turns.

Perform an ollie. The ollie is the foundation of most skateboard tricks. Essentially, an ollie allows the rider to "get air," lifting the board from the ground. Starting in the regular riding position, push down hard on the raised tail of the deck whilst simultaneously lifting your index finger. Lift your middle finger to allow the board to raise. Once air-born, replace your index finger to level out the board. Push down with both fingers to land securely.

Perform a nollie. Starting in the basic riding position, place your index finger on the front of the board and move your middle finger to the middle of the board. Push down hard on the nose (front) of the board whilst simultaneously lifting your middle finger. Lift your index finger so the board can raise. Once air-born, replace your middle finger, level out the board, and push down to land.

Perform a nollie kickflip. Position your fingers as if you were attempting to execute a nollie. Push down hard with your index finger on the nose of the board. As the board raises, flick your middle finger back and down--toward the bottom of the tail of the deck. Remove both fingers from the deck, allowing it to revolve on the horizontal axis. After one full revolution, replace your fingers (timing is key here) and push down to land securely.
