How to Make Gingerbread Man Finger Puppets

Young children love the story of the little gingerbread man, who runs away just as fast as he can. Make an easy-to-operate gingerbread man finger puppet and your child can act out the story again and again. Draw black currant eyes, a red heart mouth and a green gumdrop nose on the puppet to make it look just like the cookie in the story.

  • Small man cookie cutter
  • Paper

Instructions

    • 1

Trace a 2- to 3-inch gingerbread man cookie cutter on a piece of paper to make a pattern.

    • 2

Use the pattern to cut two pieces of brown felt.

    • 3

Use puffy fabric paint to add a face and details such as buttons to the felt pieces.

    • 4

Place the pieces of felt with their wrong sides facing each other and sew them together from the toe of one foot up one side, over the head and down the other side to the toe of the other foot. You may sew around the arms at this time or just sew straight up the sides to make a pocket for the child's finger. Sew or glue the arms together at the wrist if you use the second method.
