Things You'll Need
Instructions
Unscrew all the screws on one side of your Nerf Longshot with a slotted screwdriver. This will allow you to remove one half of it and effectively work on the parts inside of the gun. Remove all the internals from the gun, so that you can work on each of them individually if so desired. There are 21 screws in the main body and 7 screws in the shoulder stock. Keep these separate as they are different lengths. Keep them in a safe place so you do not lose them, as they are integral for reassembly.
Remove the plunger and spring from the bolt sled assembly. This is the middle tube in the parts that were removed from the Nerf Longshot. Use wire cutters to snap off the plastic supports inside the bolt sled assembly. Cover the small air release on the plunger for the bolt air release with either tape or epoxy glue. This will give it more pressure as it slides forward and allow the gun to fire darts with more force and distance.
Add a new spring to the bolt. The stiffer the spring, the more power the Nerf Longshot will have. Add padding to one end of the bolt as well, to protect it from breaking more quickly now that it has been modified to have more power. Cut a small piece of padding that will fit over the bolt piece inside the tube and glue it onto the end.
Reassemble everything, load the gun and fire it, observing the difference in how it shoots.
