How to Make LEGO Lightsaber Blades

A lightsaber is the laser-powered sword that is used by Jedi Knights or Sith Lords, the representatives of good and evil in the "Star Wars" films. These weapons are used for dueling, for deflecting laser bullets or for simply cutting through anything in their path. A lightsaber has a gray or black handle and a colored sword, typically red, green or blue. Lego's can be used as building blocks to easily and simply construct a simple lightsaber toy.

Instructions

    • 1

Gather 10 gray brick Lego pieces, which typically have four prongs or divots for fitting into other pieces. Stack the gray pieces on top of each other to form a long rectangular shape. This will be the base of the handle.

    • 2

Attach another two gray brick pieces on the top of the left edge and the right edge of the handle base. The two bricks should protrude off either end.

    • 3

Attach another two gray brick pieces on the top of the left edge and the right edge of the two brick pieces protruding off the edge. These two added brick pieces fray out even farther from the lightsaber base.

    • 4

Mount two additional bricks on either side (so four in total) directly on top of the bricks you just added. These do not protrude off the sides any farther than the bricks they sit in top of.

    • 5

Add another brick on each side off the edge of the three stacked bricks. This creates a "z" or backward "z" shape (depending on the side) on top of the lightsaber handle base.

    • 6

Fill in the gap between the "z" edges of the top of the handle with your colored Lego bricks. The space in the gap should be filled perfectly by four-pronged Lego pieces. Be sure to use only one color. Continue stacking the bricks together until the lightsaber reaches the desired height, a minimum of 13 bricks.
