Instructions
Choose a toy box without a lid. Lids are one of the most dangerous features of toy boxes, as they can fall on children and break bones, or even trap them inside if the lid falls while they are playing in the box.
Search for a toy box with safety latches that lock the lid open when in use, but do not lock the lid when it's closed. Safety locks keep the lid from falling on a child during play.
Ensure that the toy box has air holes around the sides and in the lid. Air holes allow children to breathe in case they become trapped inside.
Search for a toy box with gaps between the lid and box. These gaps can prevent your child's fingers from becoming pinched or trapped when the lid is closed.
Choose a toy box with rounded or padded edges to reduce the risk of accident. Sharp corners are hazardous, especially to small toddlers just learning to walk.
