Function
Brushless motors use magnets spinning within the motor body to generate power. The magnetic attraction rotates around the motor's shaft, creating torque to transfer to the exterior device attached to the motor for movement.
Significance
The copper wire along the motor shaft that reacts with the magnets is the key to more power. The fact that brushless motors can hold more wiring due to their brushless structure gives them an advantage over brush motors.
Benefits
Brushless motors have great efficiency, allowing the user to extend their battery life just by switching to a brushless assembly. Also, there is less maintenance attributed to brushless motors as opposed to the intricate workings of a brush motor, where springs can possibly break down.
