How to Repair a Peg Perego Toy

Since the 1960s, the Italian manufacturer Peg Perego has produced baby, toddler and child products and toys. Partnered with agricultural and recreational vehicle manufacturers such as John Deere, Polaris and Jeep, the company produces 6-volt and 12-volt battery-powered along with chain-powered ride-on vehicles. The company has also added a line of toy strollers, car seats and high chairs. While the company is synonymous with quality, products invariably suffer design and repair issues. If you have a Peg Perego toy that must be serviced or that's been recalled, the company within reason will make efforts to repair or replace it.

Instructions

    • 1

Register your toy immediately via the corporate website's submission form or complete a product registration card included with your toy. Peg Perego uses card information to notify customers of product recalls. If they don't have your purchase information in their database, they may not honor your warranty.

    • 2

Review Peg Perego's product warranty on their corporate website. Do not return your Peg Perego toy to the retailer. According to the corporate website, the company provides a limited one-year warranty on all riding toys and a six-month limited warranty on batteries. The warranty excludes repair issues related to "unreasonable use, neglect, accident abuse, misuse, improper service, modification and/or other causes not arising from defects in materials or workmanship." If the repair relates to a repair alert or recall notice, the company's customer service department will direct you to a designated service center.

    • 3

Contact Peg Perego's Customer Service Department for repair information. If you purchased the toy from a licensed Peg Perego dealer, customer service will direct you to the closest, authorized service center. If a service center isn't nearby, the company may set up a return authorization to have your product brought into the company's repair department. While the company claims to pay for repairs, you may be responsible for shipping and handling charges to a service center.
