The Mini-500 is a single-seat, small helicopter that is sold by the manufacturer as a kit that must be assembled by the owner. This type of aircraft is categorized as "Experimental." The Mini-500 is 5.25 feet wide. Empty, the Mini weighs 485 lbs., and it can handle a load of passenger and cargo of up to 355 lbs.

- The Mini-500 is powered by a Rotax 582 water-cooled engine that produces 67 horsepower. The fuel tank can hold up to 15 gallons. An important note released by Rotax is that the engine is prone to sudden stoppage, by design. The company cautions against flying the aircraft in any conditions where a no-power landing would be impossible.
Speeds and Ranges
- The Mini-500 can reach a top speed of 115 miles per hour, with its standard cruising speed rated at 75 miles per hour. It can attain a height of 10,000 feet, but should be limited to 7,000 feet for safety. It can climb at a rate of 1,100 feet per minute. On its 15 gallon tank, it can stay airborne for approximately three hours, or 225 miles.
