Types of Nerf Blasters

Nerf is a line of toys designed out of safe foam that limits the chance of injury or damage to the toys. Nerf blasters, designed and sold by Hasbro Toys, are a series of toy guns that shoot Nerf foam projectiles like darts and balls. They can be used for many different games like tag or target practice. Today they are used as much by children as they are adults. There are even organized Nerf Blaster competitions and championships around the country for all age groups. The line of Nerf Blasters continues to grow every year.
  1. Dart Tag Blasters

    • Nerf Dart Tag Blasters are used for playing group games of tag or for individual games like target practice. These blasters shoot a long dartlike projectile made of Nerf material.

There are several different types of Tag Blasters: The Crossfire Blaster is a small pistol like gun that is compact and easy to carry. The Furyfire is a pump-action blaster that holds up to 10 darts. It was the official Nerf blaster in the 2009 Nerf Dart Tag World Championships. Meanwhile, the Hyperfire is a fast-shooting toy that holds up to 10 darts in a round, magazine-style holder.

    N-Strike

    • The N-Strike line of Nerf Blasters features several different styles of guns with varying features and designs. The Deploy CS-6 holds six darts but is compatible with a separate 35-round clip. It has two different modes: blaster mode and flashlight mode.

The Firefly REV-8 is an eight-round dart-holding blaster that shoots glow-in-the-dark darts that are illuminated by a quick flash of light when the trigger is pulled.

The Longshot CS-6 is an exceptional long blaster that comes with two six-round clips, an aiming sight and bipod stand. It is designed for long-range shooting. The Maverick is a pistol-style blaster that is powerful enough to strike targets at up to 30 feet away. It is also compatible with the light beam aiming sight.

    Ball Blasters

    • The Nerf Ball Blasters are guns that shoot Nerf foam balls instead of darts. These blasters can also be used for games of tag or many other styles of games for groups or individuals.

The Atom Blaster is a durable single-shot blaster. You have to load a new ball into the blaster after each shot by pushing into the muzzle or simple pressing the gun over a ball on a hard surface. The Reactor Blaster is a long, two-handed blaster that holds four balls and is upgradeable to six. It has a range of 20 feet and a see-through tube so you will always know when its time to reload.

The Buzzsaw Blaster makes a sawlike sound every time you pull back the cocking arm to load a new ball. While it is not a stealth weapon by any means, it is an accurate gun and can make for a strategic distraction during team play.
