How It Works
The Rubik's Cube is solved by performing specific patterns to manipulate the cubes into their final spots. Solve the Rubik's Cube row by row from top to bottom. Move the cubes to a specific spot, and then perform the proper pattern to get it to its final place. As you learn the patterns, the faster you will solve the Rubik's Cube.
Solution
If you have solved the first two rows, there isn't a reason to switch two cubes that are diagonal from each other. Flip the Rubik's cube upside down and move the top around until you have a cube in the top left corner that matches the color on the front facing you. If the cube that you need on the front right corner is diagonal from the one you just placed in the top left, use the pattern that will switch the back right corner with the top right corner.
Fun Fact
As of October 2010, Erik Akkersdijk holds the world record for solving the Rubik's Cube. He beat the record during the Czech Open Rubik's Cube competition in 2008, with a time of 7.08 seconds.
