Locate the serial number. Glock serial numbers are generally stamped on a metal plate on the underside of the barrel.
Check the envelope containing the two fired casings that came with the Glock. If you purchased the Glock at a retailer, it will have come with a small brown envelope containing two fired casings and will be marked with the date the bullets were fired. This will be an accurate date for the age of the Glock.
Check the Internet. A variety of Glock websites have databases compiled by professionals and enthusiasts; these databases list Glock serial numbers and the dates associated with them.
Consult your local gun retailer. Glocks are among the most popular pistols being made, so retailers will have access to up-to-date information about Glock serial numbers and how to date Glock pistols using those serial numbers.
Contact the manufacturer. Glock can supply accurate dates for customer serial numbers, and the company accepts telephone and Internet inquiries.
