Roboquad Tricks

Approach Nearest Object

• The Roboquad's infrared vision uses multiple scanning ranges, allowing the Roboquad to assess distances and objects. According to the Roboquad user's manual, the Roboquad's highest Infrared-scanning range allows the Roboquad to scan objects up to three feet or one-meter away. Press the "Shift" button on the Roboquad's controller one time or until the Shift LED light indicator turns green; press the "Autonomy" button to make the Roboquad scan for the nearest object to its left side. Press the "Shift" button once more or until the Shift indicator light turns orange; press the "Autonomy" button to make the Roboquad approach the nearest object to its right side.

Escape Walk

• The Escape Walk is a pre-programmed Roboquad trick that enables it to scan a room to determine the largest empty space available to walk through without encountering obstacles. Press the "Shift" button on the Roboquad's controller three times or until the Shift LED light indicator turns red and press the "Autonomy" button to make the Roboquad perform an Escape Walk. You may also set the Roboquad's awareness to a medium or high setting to make the Roboquad use the Escape Walk automatically to find the optimal escape route whenever it encounters an object.

Flinch Reaction

• The Roboquad will flinch if an object approaches its face too suddenly when it is in Normal mode. The Roboquad will automatically restart each time this happens, after the third time the Roboquad's sound and vision sensors will be disabled. Wave your hand in front of the Roboqaud's eyes to make it perform a flinch reaction. Press the "Shift" button until the Shift LED light indicator turns green and press the "Autonomy" button to turn on the Roboquad's sound and vision sensors if they become disabled after a flinch reaction.

Dance

• The Roboquad is pre-programmed with two impressive movement demonstrations. Push the "Shift" button until the Shift LED light indicator turns off and push the "Demo" button to make the Roboquad perform its dance demonstration. Push "Shift" until the Shift LED light indicator turns green and press the "Demo" button to make the Roboquad perform a series of other movement demonstrations.
