How to Make a Finger Board Ramp

According to the Transworld Skateboarding website, fingerboarding is the act of skateboarding with a miniature skateboard, that in many ways looks and acts like a traditional skateboard. Tricks include traditional "shove its," ollies, slides, grinds, flips and ramps. You can buy ramps for fingerboards at any major toy store, but many fingerboarders find DIY ramps and "skateparks" out of household materials more entertaining and flexible.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the desired ramp length using measuring tape. You might want a short, steep ramp for lifting off the ground or a long, smooth ramp for coming down off of a rail.

    • 2

Cut, with the hobby knife, a rectangle of cardboard to the measurement (plus 2 inches in length) preferred measurement. If you are not sure of the ramp size that you want, cut a 9-inch by 6-inch rectangle.

    • 3

Create a top landing for the ramp by cutting a square of cardboard equal in width to the width of the ramp. If you are not sure of the size top landing you will need, start with a 6-inch by 6-inch square. Place the top landing and the ramp together, with the top of the ramp touching the part of the landing closest to the ramp. Place a strip of wide masking tape along the length of the intersection.

    • 4

Fold the bottom 2 inches of the cardboard ramp toward the underside of the ramp. Use the weighted object to hold this tab down, so the ramp stays put. If you are placing the ramp on another piece of cardboard, you could also glue the tab from the ramp down to the "floor" cardboard.

    • 5

Place the ramp at the desired height and place however many magazines or books that are needed under the top landing to stabilize the ramp. Push the books toward the hinge between the ramp and the top landing. If you need to use a lot of magazines and books, then tie the books together with string or rubber bands to keep them from moving.

    • 6

Tape the ramp to the top of the books. If the books or magazines can be destroyed, you may want to try gluing the cardboard top to the magazines, so it provides an even more stable surface.

    • 7

      Add skate stickers for decoration.
