Things You'll Need
Instructions
Measure and cut some clear, 1 1/2-inch-wide PVC pipe to 3 feet long with a hacksaw. You may also be able to buy it in the length that you need. Line the inside from end to end with a colored cellophane in the color that you want your light saber to be.
Place a domed end cap on the end of the light saber "blade." Line the other end of the blade up on the end of a bright flashlight that is about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Wind electrician's tape around the outside of the PVC pipe and the flashlight as many times as it takes to secure them. The PVC pipe should not move at all.
Wrap duct tape around the electrical tape and down the entire flashlight, except for the button that turns your flashlight on and the battery door (usually located at the bottom). Use gold or black duct tape all the way down the flashlight, then wrap duct tape in an accent color (like brown or silver) around the grip area. Add other details by cutting shapes from the accent-color duct tape.
Turn your light saber on by pressing the button that turns the flashlight on. The light will shine through the colored cellophane to make the light saber glow in that color. Imitate the sound effects that a light saber makes when you have light saber duels with your friends.
