Things You'll Need
Instructions
Create a base on which to build your skate park. If you're feeling ambitious you can make your skate park large or, if you're just giving it a try for the first time, you may make it small. Select a sturdy base, such as a square sheet of quarter-inch plywood. Sketch out what type of park features you would like and where they should go.
Build ramps, half-pipes and quarter-pipes by cutting out the sides and back supports from sturdy cardboard. To build a kicker, or a little ramp with no curvature, the back will be a small rectangle and the sides will be two triangles. To build a quarter-pipe, the back will be a square and the sides will be triangles with semi-circles cut out of them. Attach the side and rear supports with tape or hot glue. Use stacked index cards to build the front of the ramp. Index cards bend easily and, when stacked, are sturdy. Once everything has been glued or taped in place, you can attach the ramp to your base or you can leave it detached to later change the lay-out of the park. Use stickers to smooth out any bumpy transitions between the base and the ramp and to add color to the skate park.
Add rails. Use wire cutters to cut out a desired length of wire from a coat hanger. Decide where you would like to put the rail, and bend the wire to shape. Insert each end of the rail into your park and glue it into place from the underside of the ramp so that the visible side of the ramp is smooth.
