Removing the Fur
Remove the batteries before doing anything else. You will be exploring a motorized object and do not want an electric shock.
Cut the seam that connects the ears to the rest of the fur. Be careful, because cutting recklessly will cut the ear skeleton. Remove the furry ears from the rest of the fur.
Cut apart the stitches at the Furby's tail. This should expose a zip tie that acts as a drawstring to bring the fur together. After you remove the zip tie, the fur should then slide up the Furby's body.
Unhook the hooks on the Furby's ears that hold the fur in place. Once the fur is unhooked, pull it over the Furby's head like a shirt. Turn the fur inside out as you go.
Taking Apart the Body
Using the Phillips screwdriver, remove the small screws that hold the two halves of the Furby's body together.
Remove the microphone that sits in the inside one of the Furby's half-shells. This will prevent the Furby from making any further speech.
Explore the working motor and parts of the Furby. Examine the innards and decide whether or not to take the Furby apart further.
