NFL Mini Games for Kids

Young children may watch the professional football players in the NFL and dream of playing the way they do. There are a number of mini-games based on the NFL designed for kids. These games are often electronic and hand-held for easy transport. The NFL mini-games can make a good form of entertainment on long trips or provide a way to learn about football.

- Excalibur Electronics makes a hand-held NFL game played on a black and white screen. While playing the game, life-action football sounds are broadcast. Kids can play a full four-quarter game that has overtime, if necessary. The game teaches players about football terms and positions as they play defense, offense and special teams. Kids choose from different plays that involve passing, punting, kicking or running to defend their goal or score a touchdown.
NFL Trivial Pursuit
- For the kids who enjoy spouting off facts about the National Football League, the makers of the popular Trivial Pursuit board game make a hand-held electronic NFL game. This mini-game is shaped like a football and has more than 3,000 questions to test fans' knowledge. Questions are based on players and in the league as well as Super Bowl trivia. Four modes of play, including a multiple choice option, are offered. Two AA batteries are required for operation and are included with the game.
Football Hand-held Game
- Another game offered by Excalibur Electronics is the electronic football hand-held game. The game is designed for two players and is played on a game board that is designed to look like an authentic NFL field. As play progresses each move is accompanied by sound effects and announced by a sportscaster. Each player controls the offense, special teams and defense of one team and chooses from one of more than 1,000 play combinations.
