How to Do an Ollie Teck Deck

Although the ollie is the simplest trick to learn on a real skateboard, it remains one of the more difficult tricks to perform on a "Tech Deck" toy skateboard. This is mainly because it requires a certain level of delicacy. When performing a Tech Deck ollie, you must be careful to keep your motions precise and restrained, or you will cause the board to flip over. Once learned, the ollie will become a staple of your Tech Deck trick collection.

Instructions

    • 1

Set your Tech Deck on a flat surface and place your index and middle fingers on the grip tape side of the board. These will serve as your "feet". If you are right handed, place your index finger on the letter "D" where the word "Tech Deck" is printed in the middle of the grip tape. Put your middle finger on the tail of the board. If you are left handed, place your index on the tail and your middle finger on the letter "D".

    • 2

Slowly roll the Tech Deck forward using your two fingers so you that you have a bit of momentum. Push down on the tail end of the board with enough force that the Tech Deck lifts off of the table. Try to keep both fingers in contact with the board.

    • 3

Slide your front finger toward the front end of the board to flatten it out. This will prepare you to land the trick properly. This is the most difficult step; it may take you several tries to master this. Apply very little downward pressure on the board as you slide your finger. Too much pressure will cause you to move the board instead of just sliding your finger.

    • 4

Land the board flat on the surface and roll away. As you land, flatten the board out so that it is parallel with the surface you are landing on. To get a clean landing, have both your front and back sets of wheels touch down at the same time.
