Book Ramp
No construction skills are needed to create a simple incline ramp using a hardcover book. Textbooks work especially well for this ramp. Open the book to its center pages and place it face down on a flat surface. Move both ends of the book closer together to increase the incline. Practice taking your deck up one side then grinding across the binding as if it were a rail, or flipping and heading down the other side.
Craft Stick Ramp
Stack about 25 to 35 craft sticks one on top of the other and glue them together. Use additional craft sticks extended from the top of the stack down to the ground and glue them into place. This will create a ramp to trick up and off of. Make an identical ramp and then run sticks from the top of one ramp to the top of the other to create a longer platform to run your deck across before heading back down.
Half Pipe
Using a jigsaw, cut two identical rectangles from a sheet of wood measuring 8 inches long and 4 inches wide. Into each rectangle cut a semi circle starting and ending 1 inch from each side of the wood ,with the lowest point of the arc being 1 inch from the bottom. Run a thin strip of wood or several craft sticks down the arc with the two cut rectangles on each side acting as the base for the half pipe. Secure the pieces in place with glue and work on your vertical tricks with your deck.
Cardboard Ramps
Cut the sides off of a cardboard box and use the bottom or the largest side as the base for your ramp. Cut the remaining cardboard into strips and piece them together with duct tape to form inclines or boxes to jump or grind across. Look at images of real ramps as a template for your cardboard ramps. Spread the ramps around the cardboard to create a complete skate park.
