How to Make a LEGO Man Do a Frontflip

Jumping, flipping and twirling are not words that are often associated with LEGOs, which are more often used for constructing locations and vehicles. Stop building structures with your LEGOs and instead use them to help your LEGO men, known as "minifigures," to perform aerial tricks. By building a launch pad completely out of LEGOs, you can make a minifigure perform a frontflip. After you master flipping with your minifigure, you can start your own LEGO trick show, though you may need to build a LEGO stadium for the event.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 2-by-4 LEGO brick
  • 1 8-by-11 LEGO plate
  • 1 4-by-4 LEGO plate
  • 1 2-by-12 LEGO plate
  • 1 LEGO minifigure

Instructions

    • 1

Attach a 2-by-4 LEGO brick onto the center of an 8-by-11 LEGO plate. The plate will hold the brick in place during the flipping of the LEGO minifigure.

    • 2

Place a 4-by-4 LEGO plate onto the end of a 2-by-12 LEGO plate. Attach the square plate so that it hangs off the longer plate at the center of one end.

    • 3

Set the 2-by-12 plate over the 2-by-4 brick but do not attach them. Tilt the plate down so that end with the square plate is touching the 8 by 11 plate. This will act as a launcher.

    • 4

Set the LEGO minifigure onto the square plate on the end of the launcher, facing away from it. Do not press him down, as this will prevent him from flipping.

    • 5

Bend the minifigure forward at his waist to control the direction of his flip.

    • 6

Tap down on the other end of the long LEGO plate with two or three fingers. This will launch the minifigure forward in a front flip.

    • 7

Repeat the flip multiple times, applying a different amount of force each time until you have perfected the frontflip.
